Awareness
Make people aware.
Explain laws, policies and public decisions in plain Nepali and English, so everyone can make informed choices.
Independent thinking. Shared progress.
An independent, nonpartisan think tank serving Nepal.
A clearer view of the people, institutions and policies shaping our country. Built around public evidence, open questions and accountability.
An emerging civic resource. A commitment to getting it right.
A public office.
A public responsibility.
Our mission
Policy Nepal works to strengthen how Nepal is governed and how it grows. These four pillars guide everything we do.
Awareness
Explain laws, policies and public decisions in plain Nepali and English, so everyone can make informed choices.
People
Create fair, moderated spaces where citizens can question, debate and contribute directly to public policy.
Accountability
Track what officials promise, decide and deliver, using public records and the same standards for everyone.
Progress
Connect talent at home and across the diaspora, champion innovation and technology, and help Nepal and its people compete and prosper in the world.
We do not support or oppose any political party or candidate, and we are no one’s enemy. We apply the same evidence and standards to every party and public official, credit good work wherever it happens, and welcome everyone who wants Nepal to move forward.
01 / People & institutions
Who held office. What they did. Where the evidence leads. A connected record of national leadership, built one verified term at a time.
Member identities, terms, constituencies and committee roles will be reconciled against official records before appearing here. No current roster has been loaded into this prototype.
Visit the official member directoryA missing record means “not yet verified here,” not an absence of public service.
A RECORD WITH A LONG VIEW
Our planned archive includes national parliamentarians, National Assembly members and ministers, including service already in progress on the start date. Each institution will be described in its own historical context.
02 / Awareness through policy & law
Know your rights, understand public issues and make informed choices. Explore official sources by institution and subject, with law, proposals and analysis kept distinct.
CONSTITUTION · NATIONAL FRAMEWORK
The constitutional text hosted by the Nepal Law Commission. Check amendments and the authoritative language before relying on a provision.
ACT COLLECTION · LAW & JUSTICE
Browse the official collection as a research starting point. A listed document is not, by itself, proof of its latest legal status.
LEGAL LIBRARY · LAW & JUSTICE
The ministry’s legal catalogue. Our future records will separately identify document type, amendments, commencement and source version.
RESPONSIBILITY FRAMEWORK · OFFICE OF THE PRIME MINISTER
A source for understanding how government responsibilities are assigned. Ministry names and assignments will be checked for each period.
OFFICIAL PUBLICATION · GOVERNMENT PUBLISHING
Official publication records for checking instruments and dates. Digitisation and migration gaps should not be mistaken for missing legal history.
NOTICES & CONSULTATIONS · LAW & JUSTICE
Visit the ministry for official notices and feedback channels. This prototype does not assert that any particular consultation is currently open.
Try another filter. This prototype’s source guide is intentionally limited; ministry-by-ministry coverage is still in preparation.
An Act is not a policy proposal. A party manifesto is not government law. Every future library entry will identify its type, issuer, dates and verification status.
Our source standards03 / National questions
Understand the choices behind the headlines. Examine parties’ positions across several dimensions, using the same questions and evidence standards for everyone.
Compare the role of the state and markets, revenue and spending choices, and how benefits and costs are distributed. A single left–right label cannot tell the whole story.
Public provision, regulation and private enterprise
Tax choices, investment priorities and funding
Who benefits, who bears costs and over what period
04 / The civic forum
Public discussion deserves context, fair rules and space for different views. These proposed formats show what responsible participation could look like.
PUBLIC-INTEREST DEBATES
Issue-led conversations with published eligibility, impartial moderation and equal rules. Recordings, transcripts and corrections should remain accessible.
Proposed format · no events announcedLEADERSHIP WATCH
A future window into emerging public leadership, selected through documented roles and policy contributions.
A documented public role or substantive policy contribution, supported by identifiable sources and reviewed under consistent published criteria. Inclusion will not be an endorsement.
The reason for inclusion, dated work, source links, relevant responses, uncertainty and corrections. Private-life speculation and popularity leaderboards have no place here.
No people are featured in this prototype. Profiles require identity checks, editorial review and rights-cleared images before publication.
Future visitor polls could invite people to assess an officeholder’s performance. A self-selected website poll does not represent Nepal’s population.
No live polling. No recorded votes. No approval scores.
SAMPLE QUESTION · NO REAL OFFICEHOLDER
PUBLIC FEEDBACK
Future comments will attach to a specific policy version or provision, with moderation and a fair appeal process. They will not be official submissions to government.
The standard behind the work
For everyone in Nepal, across gender, caste, ethnicity, geography and economic background. Our proposed work begins with a simple responsibility: make it possible for readers to check us.
Go to the primary sourcesOfficial records lead for official acts. Every material claim should identify its source, date and verification status. Party material establishes what a party says; it does not independently establish performance.
The same publication standards apply to every party and officeholder. Funding, conflicts and editorial responsibility should be disclosed. This prototype makes no claim that nonprofit incorporation or operational governance has been completed.
An allegation, investigation, charge and judgment are different things. Consequential adverse coverage requires careful sourcing, relevant responses and the latest procedural outcome. Missing evidence is a limitation, not a finding.
Production records should retain a visible correction history and a right-of-reply process. No correction submission channel is active in this preview. Editorial ownership and an operating contact must be established before public launch.
This static prototype has no account system, analytics integration, comment submission, poll storage or personal-data form. Only your language preference is saved in this browser. Poll choices stay in the current page and are discarded when it reloads. Opening an external source is subject to that site’s own practices.
START WITH THE RECORD
These official sources are research starting points, not a claim of complete or up-to-date coverage.
